What is an electrode holder in milling and EDM?

In milling and EDM, a holder grips and positions the workpiece or electrode during machining.

MaxxTooling holders let an electrode be machined to shape in a milling machine before it is used in the EDM machine. They also allow electrodes to be changed while preserving their established position.

The electrode can remain mounted in the same holder as it moves between milling and EDM. This reduces repeated positioning between machines.

Corrosion-resistant holder materials, such as suitable stainless steels, are used where the tooling is exposed to water-based dielectric in Wire EDM WEDM.
