Are MaxxMacro holders compatible with larger chucks?

Yes. The MaxxMacro system is designed for downward compatibility: MaxxMacro 54 holders can be used on MaxxMacro 70 and MaxxMagnum chucks, and MaxxMacro 70 holders can be used on MaxxMagnum chucks.
MaxxTooling does not recommend the reverse arrangement. A MaxxMacro 70 pallet may physically engage some MaxxMacro 54 chucks, but the smaller chuck does not provide the support surface for which the larger pallet was designed.
