MaxxTooling's pallets are platforms designed to securely attach workpieces or holders into a chuck. This facilitates the easy and rapid movement of these workpieces within your machining or manufacturing environment.
Most of our products already include pallets.
How do I choose a workholding pallet for my machining application?
Choosing a workholding pallet depends on workpiece size and weight, the production process, application requirements, and budget:
Workpiece size and weight: Select a pallet large enough for the workpiece. MaxxMacro (System 3R OEM 100% cross-compatible) Performance Pallets may be preferable for heavier applications.
Production process: For Wire EDM WEDM, a machined 440C MaxxMacro Performance Pallet is recommended. For milling, a cast pallet may be a more economical option.
Application requirements: Consider the precision and rigidity required. MaxxMacro Performance Pallets provide dimensional stability for demanding applications.
Budget: Cast stainless steel pallets cost less; MaxxMacro Performance Pallets are an option when their construction and finished features are needed.
Read full answerHow do plated and unplated pallets differ in coating coverage and corrosion resistance?
Plated pallets feature a nickel-type coating applied to all surfaces except for the mating or ground surfaces. This coating is primarily used for corrosion resistance.
However, in medical and other specific applications, the plating may flake, similar to what is observed with System 3R products. For these cases, we recommend our MaxxMacro (System 3R OEM 100% cross-compatible) Performance Pallets for enhanced durability. See MaxxMacro 54 Performance Rust-Proof Pallet
